For over two decades, Masjid Bilal has maintained the Weekend Islamic School program as a learning environment for Muslim children. Our mission is to provide a healthy and engaging educational space where we focus on promoting Islamic teachings and fundamentals. With a well-constructed curriculum and knowledgeable, volunteer-led teaching staff, we are pleased to offer classes in Qur’an reading, memorization, and Islamic studies for children from 5 to 18 years of age.

As a volunteer-led program, the Weekend Islamic School would value your help! We can also help document your volunteer hours. Possible roles include teacher, substitute teacher, teaching assistant, administration staff member, etc.

Q: What is the age requirement for students?

A: Students must be at least 5 years old by August 1.

Q: My child is 4 years old but they know Arabic Alphabets and short Surahs. Can I enroll my child?

A: No. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate this request.

Q: Are there any other payments other than tuition fees? Like payment for snacks, books, school supplies, etc.?

A: It is possible that the school may need additional payment. We will notify parents if we need any payment outside of tuition fees.

Q: Can I pick up my child early during school time?

A: It is discouraged. If there are special circumstances, please contact the school or the student's class teacher beforehand.

Q: Can I drop off my child late during school time?

A: We expect all students to be punctual. However, if there are special circumstances, please inform the school or the student's teacher ahead of time.

Q: What happens if I fail to pick up my child at the end of school time?

A: Students must be picked up on time to ensure their safety. It is the parents' responsibility to arrange the student's transportation to and from school.

Q: Do I need to pay full month payment if my child joins in the middle or at the end of the month?

A: Yes, but please discuss any concerns with the School Principal.

Q: Can my child join in the middle of the school year?

A: Yes, but keep in mind that the student will miss a large portion of the curriculum. We expect parents/guardians to help their child catch up with the class.

Q: I want to be a volunteer teacher at the school and teach my own child. Is that allowed?

A: It is discouraged for ethical reasons. But if circumstances call for it, it is possible at the discretion of the School Principal.

Q: My family is moving away end of this year. How does my child leave the school properly?

A: Please inform the School Principal at least two weeks before leaving so that necessary arrangements can be made.

Q: Can my child keep his/her cell phone during school time?

A: Yes, but they are not allowed to use cell phones during lessons. Your child may face consequences if they continuously fail to follow the school's cell phone policy, as described in the Rules and Regulations.

Q: How do I know if school is closed for snow or other emergency reasons?

A: Our School Principal will make the announcement via email. Please ensure that you add the correct email address when you register your child and check your email before leaving for school on days of inclement weather.

Q: Which type of payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept PayPal, credit/debit card, check, and cash payments. Please refer to the Payment section for more details.

Q: Are there other ways of registration other than online registration forms?

A: Online registration is highly encouraged. However, you may also register in person at the front desk during school hours.

Q: What happens if I miss a payment? Or if I pay late?

A: Please discuss your situation with the School Principal.

Q: What if I can't afford the school fees?

A: Masjid Bilal Weekend Islamic School strives to never turn away any student due to their financial situation. You may contact the administration to discuss your situation and form a financial assistance plan best suited to your needs.
